I could sense you’re on your own journey! If it makes you feel better, I’m still trying to grasp this, too. It’s a work in progress.
If there’s one thing I believe, it’s that we all construct our own reality in terms of the narratives we select to frame our experience. The hero’s journey is just one of those possible narratives, but it’s a powerful one because it’s been used so long and it’s ingrained in our brains. So I figured we can use it to our advantage if we actively imagine ourselves as the protagonist of our journey. I think it makes it easier to deal with the inevitable setbacks along the way, and also provides some practical ideas to manage the challenges when you’re stuck (things like take a walk, think the opposite, or just wait and be patient).
