Milwaukee’s second “science fair for grown-ups” features amateur researchers answering offbeat questions via the scientific method. The results of their wacky experiments will be displayed one night only in a vacant storefront on Broadway.

Here is a preview of some of the noteworthy projects, along with MKE’s own highly unscientific hypotheses.

Project Fool Proof

Question Can subjects go three hours doing nothing but eating a certain fruit or writing a certain sentence?

MKE’s hypothesis The fruit-eaters will be successful if they consume mangos. We could eat mangos all day.

Project The Chotch Factor: An Anthropological Study of the Evolution of the Douchebag

Question Why do guys who try to appear cool come across as losers?

MKE’s hypothesis The angle of one’s flipped collar is directly proportional to one’s lameness

Project Locating the Quantum Frankenstein Threshold

Question Is there a point where electricity stops being deadly and begins reanimating dead tissue?

MKE’s hypothesis The researcher gets arrested for this experiment

Project How Urban Planning Impacts Midwestern Dating Rituals

Question Is the current freeway construction detrimental to late-night booty calls?

MKE’s hypothesis Those orange cones along the interstate are revealed to be a total mood-killer

Project The Ultimate Conspiracy Hypothesis

Question Are Area 51, the Rat Pack, the death of Marilyn Monroe and the Kennedy assassination all tied together?

MKE’s hypothesis Somehow, Roswell is also involved
