We’re all quitters

It’s not a question of if. It’s a question of when.

Eventually, we quit everything we ever do. Either we make that decision, or it’s made for us.

You could be like Brett Favre or you could be like Chris Borland.

You could be like Mike or be like Al McGuire.

You could be like Dave Chappelle or The Godfather Part III.

The act of quitting can paradoxically elevate you to hero status or make you look weak or a has-been.

You could go out on top or forever regret closing a door.

The tricky part is we don’t often know if the timing was right until after we make that decision.

Should I keep going with this post? Should I tell more stories and make it more personal? Should I talk about jobs I’ve quit and times I decided to stick it out?

I think I’ll quit while I’m ahead.
